Traveling Wrap-Up
We made it to Texas safe and sound! Huzzah! Here's a rundown of how our travels went:
Our flight from State College to Philly was delayed for an hour AFTER we boarded. Booooo....no fun being stuck on a plane an extra hour! We missed our connection in Philly because of the delay so we had to be re-booked on a later flight. During our 4 hour layover, Peyton charmed and befriended a large group of travelers (hi Carly!). He behaved perfectly and was crawling up to strangers and pulling up on their legs (he also tried to steal a woman's bracelet and a man's watch - infant crime is on the rise, watch out!).
The flight to Houston went pretty well. Peyton befriended a 9 month old in front of us and all was well until the little guy screamed at Peyton; he recovered pretty quickly though. The only incident we experienced was the ill effects of the medication he's taking for his ear infections. He had an amazing diaper blow-out halfway through the flight. He had diarrhea that leaked through his onesie, pants, a blanket and onto my jeans. Pleasant. I had quite the experience trying to clean him up and change his clothes in the airplane bathroom.
Anywho, we made it to Houston alive (obviously - I don't think the afterlife has great wireless internet, so I'm probably not blogging from there).

Doctor's Appointment
I took Peyton to the Dr. today to get him checked out before we leave for Texas tomorrow. He was SUPER cranky and agitated yesterday as well as this morning, so I called in for a "sick" appointment. He had also been shaking his head intermittently and his balance was a little...."off". The office set me up with an appointment for 2:30 (I *love* that they reserve some time in the day for people to make appointments the day of). We went to the indoor playground, which went pretty well. He played in his favorite horse, rode in the wagon and went down a small slide a couple of times.
We got to the appointment early and got taken back to the exam room right at our scheduled time. We then waited for 30 minutes to see the Dr. 30 minutes!!! I know that they get busy during the day and it is hard for them to stay on schedule, but 30 minutes is a loooong time to sit in a hot exam room with a cranky, naked baby. The Dr. finally came in and did the exam. She was super nice and very attentive. She told me that my poor little guy had an ear infection in both ears as well as a pretty severe flare-up of his eczema. I also discovered that he is getting two more teeth in addition to the top front two that are still coming in. Peyton will have 6 teeth soon!! The Dr. went to write the prescriptions (which took almost 20 more minutes!) and then sent me off to the apothecary in the same building. I waited 30 more minutes for my prescription to be filled. When the pharmacist handed me the prescriptions, she informed me that the Rx for the ear infections had to be refrigerated. Ack! How do you refrigerate prescriptions when you are traveling by plane for 6 hours?!? We'll have to see how that goes tomorrow.....
Anywho, I'm all packed up for tomorrow. I'm not thrilled about traveling with a teething, snotty, itchy 9 month old with ear infections. Oh yeah......the Rx will also give him diarrhea. Awesome.

Peyton is sick : (
Peyton has been sick for the past few days, so that is my excuse for the lack of photos/stories. Here are some photos of him in the midst of his sickness....

Videos....
Two things about the videos on the blog:
1. Sometimes they don't work (not sure why), but occasionally this can be remedied by clicking on the post title and going to the post's page.
2. I've added "tags" to the video posts so that you can click "Video" (under "Labels") on the left-hand side of the page and it will take you to all of the videos (I know the Grandmas like to re-watch some of the videos)
Indoor playground
Peyton and I have started going to an indoor playground on Tues/Thurs that takes place in a large Baptist church in town. You pay $10 for the season and you get to play with all of the toys from 9 to 11 AM. The first time we went, P was pretty hesitant and did not want to leave my side much. Today, though, he ventured out on his own and was playing with everything!! It is fun to see him become a little more independent and social.
This was from his first time (he LOVES the horse):
The rest are from today!
He has a little scratch on the bridge of his nose from pulling a baby gate down on himself at home.
He loves to open and close doors!
That is his buddy, Eli, with him.
LOVE the face!

Snow angel...
I took Peanut out into the snow today to grab some pictures (don't worry, Grandmas, I bundled him up in about 4 different layers). He did fine in the snow until he went to investigate it a little more and face-planted. No, I didn't get pictures of that. The mommy part of me overruled the photographer part of me and I scooped him up out of the snow before I could get any photos....
