Photos & Finn is 6 months!

Finley turned 6 months old today!  I know I am constantly lamenting how fast time goes by, but it seems so unfair that the baby stage is so fleeting!!  I went to Texas with the kids last month & we had a fun time hanging out with my parents, grandparents and other family members.  We went to a farm, to a bouncy castle place, the Children's Museum & a Halloween celebration.  Peyton was not a huge fan of the Halloween celebration b/c he has convinced himself that there are fireworks at every event where there are lots of people.  Casey took him to a University of Arkansas game last month and there were fireworks at the beginning of the game and every time they scored.  Needless to say, Peyton did not enjoy himself and they left right after the game started.  I guess that is what started his fireworks obsession!

Finley is doing well.  We have been plagued on and off with colds and other little viruses.  I guess it is just that time of year!  We tried to start him out on baby foods, but he wasn't having it so we are taking a break until after his 6 month appt.  Here is a barrage of photos and I will have more to share after today (doing Finn's 6 months portraits today!)

We went to the County Fair last week and had a lots of fun (it was a total rip-off but we still had fun!). Peyton chose to go on the mini roller-coaster for his first ride. Big mistake. He HATED it. He did pretty well and didn't cry but he kept asking if he could get off. He rode the carousel next and had a lot of fun on it. He rode a mini train ride a few times and then went back to the carousel again. I really wanted him to ride the ferris wheel, but he refused! He wanted to ride the bumper cars but he wasn't tall enough, unfortunately.

Finley has started rolling from his back to his tummy this past week! Yay! He is also doing really well in the crib at night but still refuses to nap in it. Peyton slept in his bed without his pull-up diapers last night for the first time and didn't have an accident! Woo hoo!!

I have been pretty lax about taking pictures of the kiddos lately.  We have been trying to transition Finley to his crib for a week and a half now and it is not going well.  I am sleeping in his nursery on an air mattress just so I can be close in case he starts choking.  Crazy little man gets himself so worked up that he starts gagging and choking, so I feel like I always have to be on high alert!  So far, we have ditched the swaddle but he just doesn't enjoy sleeping in his crib.  He wakes up every 2 hours or so and it takes a little while to get him back to sleep.  I haven't slept in a very long time.....

Finley at 3 months...

We have begun the long journey of transitioning Finley to his crib in his own room.  He still takes little naps in his swing, but I started putting him in his crib at night on Sunday.  The first night went really well, he slept from about 11pm to 5am.  Since then, it has all gone downhill!  He is definitely having trouble getting himself back to sleep without the rocking motion of his swing. 





..he isn't naked in his bumbo, his fat rolls just swallowed his diaper.
